The weather of Mexico varies exceedingly from area to area. There are two rather featured seasons: the dry one (starting from early December, ending late May) is popular with tourists, and the rainy season (the rest six months of the year) is rich in afternoon short rains. In Mexico you can easily find a lot of climate types, generally it's altitude that defines it. In fact the weather can be described as mild and pleasant. Now let's point out some areas of Mexico.

In the capital of Mexico, Mexico City, there is little rain and it is fairly warm by day and fresh in the morning and at night. The average winter temperature is about 20 C, though in spring the temperature reaches 31 C. If you happen to have been to Mexico city in the end of summer, you have got used to afternoon brief rains, freshing up the city.

The coastal Pacific line of the country, to start with, has a tropical type of climate, it's characterized with hot and rather humid summers with temperature ranging from 30 C in the north of the region (Guaymas) to 35 C in the south (Mazatln, Puerto Vallarta) and mild winters with the average 20 C temperature.

Penetrating heat (sometimes 48 C ) and few heavy showers are typical of the California Peninsula in the fall and winter.

The Yucatan Peninsula and the South of Mexico are famous for fertile soil and dense forests, heat and rains; here we can see an equator type of climate. That's why Cancun and Acapulco located here are tourist crowded all the year round, because the temperature is 32 C.

But the north of Mexico is characterized with severe climate, there are snowy peaks of the Sierra Madre Occidental even in summer. But huge plains have hot weather, but little water. This territory is rich in many kinds of animals, insects and birds, but as well in wood, some two thirds of the total Mexican timber grow here.

The weather of the mountainous areas of Mexico is different, but as a rule winters tend to be rather cold with freezing temperatures by night.

But don't be afraid to be frozen in Mexico, because Mexicans are known to be one of the most hospitable nations in the world!
